About Dunedin

Dunedin is a historic city known for its strong links to Scottish culture. Located on the South East coast of the South Island, Dunedin sits at the head of the Otago Harbour by the stunning Otago Peninsula.

Dunedin is home to the first University in New Zealand (Otago University) and a bona fide castle - the awe-inspiring Larnach Castle, which is a must-see for visitors to Dunedin.

It also boats the steepest street in New Zealand - the vertigo-inducing Baldwin Street, site of an annual race involving confectionery! Competitors vie to roll their Jaffa (a Kiwi sweet consisting of a ball of orange-flavoured chocolate inside a reddish-orange candy shell) down the street the fastest.
