Intercity® operates daily buses from Christchurch to Invercargill and the bus journey takes approximately 10 hours and 15 minutes including meal breaks along the way, and a transfer in Gore.

Buses to Invercargill depart from outside the Bus Exchange on Lichfield Street, Christchurch, and arrive outside the Tuatara Lodge, 32 Dee St next to the i-Site Visitor Centre, Wachner Place.
