So beautiful
Our favourite geothermal walk, absolutley breathtaking, very peaceful, amazing views and can catch the bus back after the walk too. A highlight of our trip!

Great walk
Easy walk through beautiful landscape. Black swans, Canada geese, lakes and rivers of hot water with amazing colors. Walk to end and take bus back.

Great walk. New geothermal area.
Very interesting history. Downhill walk. Uphill bus. Nice cafe. We walked to bus stop one. Caught the bus up. Had lunch. Caught the bus back to bus stop one walked to Lake and caught the bus back.

Amazing scenery and experience
We took the self guided walk and boat trip and can highly recommend both. Well set up with maps, information boards and helpful staff. Follow trails and experience the sights, smells and feelings that pictures cannot capture. Easy walking on the main trail - you can easily take your time. We also did the extra hike - which was great, although most of the viewing points were overgrown - but we enjoyed the walk for itself. To be so close to the geysers and thermal activity was amazing. The boat trip was relaxed and informative.

Never Before Experienced Wonder of Nature
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our self guided walk around on a perfect day at Waimangu Volcanic Valley. There were easy and difficult levels so you got to experience everything without too much strain. There were sights everywhere and the information boards and artwork that were along the trails allowed you to be constantly connected and i=-understanding of what you were seeing and experiencing. The thermal pools added to the colour of the surrounds and the eerie tendrils of steam coming from the ground and mountain side added another aspect to this intriguing place. Thoroughly recommend this experience to anyone visiting this area of Rotorua. Fabulous.
