The experience with tourguides Doug & Pearl was great. You actually enter the factory ground to see the whole brewing process live and on screen, and even get to smell, feel & taste the main ingredients barley & hop. Afterwards you are rewarded with a tasting palet with 6 tasty shot. Behind the factory you have a nice walking trail to loose some calories, in order to come back and gain a few during the Happy Hour Steak night (on Thursday 5 to 7 pm) with an heavenly pot of unpasteurized Carlton draught for 15 AU$. I enjoyed it so much that I'll head for refills today. Well done guys.

The tour starts with a bit of history, founding of Dunedin, gold rush at Queenstown, start brewery, etc. At the top floor you will get the process of beer making explained, water, barley & hops, running through the old museum, with copper water stills, old milling machines, copper steep, mash, lauter, destillation & fermentation stills, and cats drinking beer. Then history again, Christchurch earthquake, new investors, tv advertisement. And a quick look at the new installation. Next rush off as the workers did to the taproom where you can get a taste of free ales & lagers until the bell for quick last order.
