Mystery Picnic - Matakana
Was an enjoyable event. Something unique and different. A great few shops and spots to visit. Well put together and we enjoyed the selection of treats from various retailers. Would recommend Matakana. Remember to take your reusable coffee cup, picnic blanket, knife, pen for the quiz, chilly bag or bin. Do not need plates, knives or forks or serviettes as these were supplied. Thought we'd meet Philippa at the start but understandably family time is very important so we were met by Jan and she was very nice.

My son's cricket game was on but thank you for your understanding, family time is important, self-employment is all a work/life balance and I am very lucky I have such a wonderful helper in Jan. A great day
Great concept, great day and very well organised. The crossword was harder than expected but with a bit of help we got to the right place. The stop where we had the picnic was just stunning. We'd highly recommend this as something a little different than your usual picnic. Enjoyed picking up the additional food items on the way (as well as some extras to support the local businesses). Our only slight negative would be the flower place where there were no flowers to pick and anyway they would've died by the time we got home. We thought a small tub of gelato might have been a better idea there. But a great day and the weather thankfully was good also. Thanks very much Philippa.

Thank you Colleen for your feedback. So glad you enjoyed your picnic. I remember it was unfortunately very wet leading up to this date and with your comments I have organised in future for a pre arranged bunch of flowers in a jar for customers to take away instead. Thanks again.

Amazing day out
What an Amazing day out with the family, seeing a few spots I would never have thought to have stopped at. The quality of the food was impressive—everything was fresh, local, and thoughtfully chosen. From artisan cheeses to freshly baked bread, there was something for everyone. The spot we ended up in for the picnic was wonderful, with a fantastic view.

Great adventure!
If you want a great day out, without the mental load of planning it all, this is a great option! Loads of local activities and goods to try and no extra brain power required. The hosts at the various locations gave us personalized attention which made it extra special.

What a nice time.
This is a really lovely day out. We loved exploring the area and seeing places we wouldn’t normally have seen. Philippa has thought of everything you need- it’s very very well run. Our picnic at the end was absolutely delicious. I’d absolutely recommend doing this.
