Hi Marilu, Thank you so much for leaving us a 5-star review, so glad you had a super fun time onboard! We can't order sunshine every day unfortunately, but we do have great crew that look after you while onboard no matter the weather! How awesome you got to meet some of our incredible local wildlife too. OzSail Team
Amazing experience, amazing staff and really good food. Recommended 100%
Hi Davide, Thank you for your great feedback, we really appreciate it. Thanks, OzSail Team
I took my 19 year old son for a few nights and we had such a great time. The crew were super chilled and friendly and had a great taste in music on the playlist. Food was excellent and nothing bad to say. This is the only way to do a few overnights out of Airlie. All other boats are second class experience compared to Avatar. Side note. I did this trip almost 20 years ago when the boat was near new and so was I. It is still in great shape and I am not leaving it another 20 years to go again.
Hi Matt, Thank you so much for your great feedback, we really appreciate it! We can't wait to see you again :) Thanks, OzSail Team
The boat is terrible! Not designed for the amount of passengers. The “privet” rooms are old storage rooms turned in to beds that you don’t get any air and fill suffocated. The crew and the boat are not prepared for rain weather. The captain super grumpy. All the passengers that were in the boat didn’t sleep in the first night for the heat and humidity inside except for the crew that had aircon and fans. The 25 that were in the boat ask to go back to Airlie Beach after the first night, we didn’t finish the experience. Was terrible super disappointing.
Hi Carlos, Firstly I would like to apologise for your experience onboard our Avatar Vessel. Unfortunately, this time of the year we do experience heavy rain and humidity. We are however always looking for ways to improve our service and require honest feedback to do so. We have taken onboard all your feedback and are currently in the process of of arranging a cover/shade sail for the deck as shelter for both rainy and sunny days, we are also in the processed of looking at options to cool down our sleeping quarters. Thanks, OzSail Team
I must say the boat is pretty cool, very stable, spacious (except for the boots) but overall it was a nice experience, I think we were lucky with the group of people we have travelled with, happy and party people but moderate and respectful! What I think the tour lacked a bit was the crew education and participation in it. There was no initial brief of what the plan for the two days was; no-one a part from the capitan was knowledgeble about the areas we were sailing through and let alone wanted to tell you a bit about what to expect... or anything, such as marine life, coral life, dangerous species... anything.. it was like the crew were just people like us hosted on a boat led by no-one.. Again, I like it the route itself and the boat, but it could have been done much better and much more personalised, specially with the amount of information could be provided in this area of the world, so peculiar and so different from all the rest.
Hi, Thanks for taking the time to leave us your feedback of your time with us. We try and improve our guests experience on each and every tour, so we welcome your comments and appreciate you for giving us the opportunity to respond. We have now reviewed our crew information sheets to ensure they have information on hand for our beautiful area and can answer any questions quests may have. ~OzSail Team

No sun needed for the perfect sailing trip
Had a super fun time at the Avatar! Even if we weren‘t lucky with the sunshine, the crew brings you to places that seem just too beautiful to be real. Snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef, we saw hundreds of colourful fish, sea turtles, stingrays and at night even sharks underneath the boat. Other than that, the atmosphere was great and the food delicious. Have fun!
