Join us for a day of fun activity and memorable scenery at Cradle Mountain National Park.

We’ll first start our day with a stop in The Town of Murals - Sheffield. Sheffield features over 100 paintings on the buildings across the town that depicts the history of the Cradle Mountain region. This quirky town gives a taste of what’s to come.

We then head into Cradle Mountain which is known for its iconic scenery and a variety of beautiful walks. You’ll have around 5 hours to explore ancient rainforests, alpine heaths, glacial lakes, rugged mountains and close encounters with our local wildlife. Rainforest City and Pencil Pine Falls will be our first two gorgeous walks. These smaller hikes will set us up for our main hike event. Choose between two different hikes, the iconic Dove Lake Circuit or Marion’s Lookout. Dove Lake Circuit is a 2-3 hour, 6-kilometre track, classified as easy and features flora, button grass, myrtle, sassafras, fagus, King Billy Pine and incredible views of Cradle Mountain. Marion’s Lookout is a medium-grade 4-kilometre hike with some steeper sections. The effort is well worth the breathtaking 360-degree views of the surrounding World Heritage wilderness area.

Along the way, we will stop for a lunch break and enjoy the views of the local wombats, calm streams, and beautiful scenery. Learn some local history from Weindorfers Chalet and see the ancient King Billy Pines on Weindorfers Forest Walk.

Before returning back to Launceston, we’ll stop for treats at the delicious Van Dieman's Land Ice Creamery and Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm. A sweet way to end a sweet day.

“This must see National Park for the people for all time. It is magnificent, and people must know about it and enjoy it.” Declared Gustav Weindorfer from the summit of Cradle Mountain in 1910.
