Step aboard and join us for a cruise on Kakariki!
Our comfortable boat will take you out to view the 14-metre high Maori Rock Carvings which are only accessible by water.
Kakariki will take you right up close for the perfect photo of Ngatororangi carved into the rock face.
As we cruise out to the carvings on crystal clear water you will be able to view the spectacular scenery from four comfortable seating areas. Either inside the cabin, outside in the cockpit, or climb upstairs to our flybridge. You can even have a Titanic moment out on our bowrider.
Our experienced skippers will talk to you about the historical, spiritual and cultural significance of the area.
Onboard we have all the essential facilities. A bathroom and an area for changing and a galley kitchen.
We provide free tea and coffee and are licensed to sell alcoholic drinks. R18
In summer we stop for a swim and our duckboard makes it easy for getting in and out of the water.
We thoroughly enjoyed this trip. The lake was rough but Pete did a great job at keeping everyone safe and entertained. Highly recommend
Incredible experience. Our skipper was friendly and welcoming with lots of local knowledge. Highly recommend.
Thank you Sara, It was good to meet you.
They asked as to re book for the following day only to get let down right at the last minute which was disappointing then was told an excuse of they were busy on the phone to a client in the u.k so only could rate them 1 star as we never got to go on the cruise so can only comment on the way things went down as we had to travel from turangi which is 44 min away could have given us a heads up earlier in the morning so we could of made other plans.
I went on the summer 7.30pm sunset cruise and it was stunning. It’s a 2 hour trip which includes a glass of wine or beer and you get to swim half way through in the most idyllic spot on the lake when the sun sets. Possibly the most lovely swim you can ever have. Or you can stay on the boat and watch the sunset with drinks. You can also BYO drinks and food and hook your tunes up to the sound system if you want. It’s easy going and the commentary is great. A fab way to spend the evening.
Olivia Glad you had a great time . Kakariki is a great boat with lots of room.
