The day begins with a 7-minute rollercoaster helicopter ride over the awe-inspiring Skippers Canyon, famous for its exciting cliff edges and gold mining history. This is an incredible sightseeing experience and the ULTIMATE way to travel to Deep Creek to start your rafting adventure.
On the way you will get to enjoy breathtaking views of Skippers Canyon, Wakatipu Basin, historic Skippers Road and Coronet Peak Ski Area. Next, meet your river guide and paddling team before receiving an extensive safety briefing making you ready to handle the exhilarating rapids.
Peaceful waters at the entrance of Skippers Canyon let you ease into your adrenaline-packed trip. It won't be long before you will be shooting through the lower canyon and its famous grade 3-5 rapids. You’ll get to paddle Aftershock, Squeeze, Toilet, Oh Sh*t, Pinball and Jaws to name a few. Your raft will then plunge into darkness as you negotiate the 170m long Oxenbridge Tunnel before bursting into Cascade Rapid to complete your adventure.
A short walk will bring you back to Rafting Base for hot showers and finish your day with a trip to our very own brewery and restaurant, Canyon Brewing. Come explore our backyard on this exclusive adventure, a must-do for every visitor to Queenstown!

Heli rafting
Experience was fantastic - loved the helicopter flight. Disappointed with the rapids. Winter is clearly the better time to do this when the water is flowing. Compared to doing rafting on the Tully river in Queensland this was very tame. The kids loved getting out of the raft and floating down s and dream and jumping off the 8m ledge. Safety wise outstanding and guide was entertaining. Cannot take any personal photos which was disappointing - none to add to the photo album - no evidence of our achievements.

Fantastic day out!
An excellent experience, loved the rafting, the story telling, the banter and the amazing scenery. Would have loved for the helicopter ride to be a bit longer, but pretty spectacular none the less.

Didn’t get to do the heli rafting due to numbers but was told at the base that it was going ahead, so once I was out there there was no communication as to what was happening I emailed book me yesterday in relation to receiving some money back for that part of the trip and i am yet to get a response but the shot over white water rafting was awesome the guides were super fun and made you feel safe had a great time, although there was no go pro footage of the experience it was still fantastic. So great experience I just would have liked to know if I was doing the heli rafting when I was there or not as I was left in the dark about the whole time

Fantastic afternoon
We took the heli rafting tour which was just fantastic. From the moment we arrived we were well looked after. The helicopter ride to the start of the rafting was exciting and looking down at the road the rafting vehicle was negotiating I'm sure either option would be just as exciting. The rafting was challenging and thrilling. I would do it again if we go back to Queesnstown.

Shotover Rafting
Jasper was incredible. He was energetic and fun. He made the trip exciting yet we were safe due to all his good instructions. His added history info was a bonus. The whole team was organized and professional. Thanks for the fun.
