Soar over the amazing Lake Wanaka township and over the incredible glass-like Glendhu Bay on this trial flight experience!

Enjoy the views as you sweep over the lake, skirting past wedge-shaped Mount Iron and the sparkling Clutha River before heading back to base. The trial flight is a short 20-minute flight in a small aircraft with an experienced instructor at your side. The qualified instructor will guide you through take-off, flying and landing, all while having dual control of the plane. The dual control means that you are in the safest hands and the instructor will only give full control to you when you feel comfortable.

No previous experience is necessary as you’re in the safest hands with our highly qualified and experienced pilot/instructors and can take the controls as much or as little as you like. Everyone can learn to fly, whether you're 10 or 100! Bring up to two friends or family members as passengers to enjoy the ride - free of charge!

This experience is perfect if you’ve always wanted to learn how to fly or if ‘flying a plane’ is a must on your bucket list!

Bad Weather Refunds

  • If your experience is cancelled by the operator (because of the bad weather, safety concerns, unscheduled maintenance etc) you will be entitled to a full refund.

Notes

  • Please Note: 1x person booked for the Trial Flight can bring a maximum of 2x viewing passengers to enjoy the ride free of charge. The second passenger is subject to total takeoff weight limitations.

    Duration: Please allow 40 minutes for the whole experience.

I booked this for my partner and he had the best time! Tommy was a fantastic instructor and showed us some of his talented moves! I think I left my stomach up somewhere above Wanaka!! Highly recommend and wish I had booked a longer flight!!

I had the pleasure of flying with Lee who managed to keep me at relative ease given the turbulence (which was equal parts exciting and unnerving). Amazing experience, would recommend to anyone, no better way to see the range and township.
