We had no problem checking into Sovereign Hill with our Book Me tickets. We were disappointed that the only place to have lunch was the cafe, apparently had the same food as the Hope bakery. Unless you wanted a restaurant experience in a pub there. Coach ride was good and worth it. Not as colorful and entertaining as I remember Sovereign Hill to be when we took the kids years ago. There were some nice items in the shops, and plenty of boiled lollies. Not sure it's worth the full $49 cost at the gate, glad we got it for $37 on Book me.
Spent 5 hours here, something for all ages; took my 4 year old and 16 year old granddaughters, they both really enjoyed it. The 4 year old especially loved going down the mine, went twice! The 16 year old enjoyed making her own candle and having her “ old fashioned “ photo taken; both also enjoyed panning for gold and going for a horse and carriage ride. Would highly recommend going here for a great day out!
There was a deal for general admission for 5people and above and I checked that in. The total came to $165. When I was about to complete the purchase, I was asked if I would like to add mine tour. Mine tour normal was only $8 per person. However, the total that showed up for me was $265 which does not make sense. Since the time was clicking by to finalise the booking (the clock time that allows to complete the booking in certain time) which I did. Finally I ended up paying nearly the normal rate for General Admission and the mine tour. I am senior citizen card holder and also a RACV platinum member. If I had used those concessions, I would have been better off!!
We planned on spending a couple of hours at Sovereign Hill but ended up staying for the whole day, it was so good. We received the stories from each building, fantastic! The butcher was extra good as was the blacksmith and the wheelwright. The self guided mine tour was excellent! We had a delicious pastie from the bakery then watched the parade and the musket salute. The whole thing way exceeded my expectations and I’ll be recommending this to everyone! Thanks SO much, it was wonderful!

Great day out
The Gold panning was the best, crowds not too bad, but they ran out if toffee apples and the photo shop was booked out by the time we got there. If you plan on doing any of that, go there first. Otherwise, great day walking and quiet educational.
