From coastal hiking to off-road biking, and some sea kayaking to finish off the day, our Mornington Peninsula Coastal Adventure tours pack more action than a Schwarzenegger film.
The adventure begins: After a Melbourne city pick-up, you spend the next hour and a bit getting friendly with your host and fellow TripFitters until we find ourselves at the majestic Cape Schanck. Located on the rugged southern side of the peninsula, Cape Schanck offers some of the best coastal scenery in Australia. We’ll hike through bushland to a deserted beach, keeping an eye out for kangaroos, wallabies and echidnas along the way.
A view from the top: From the water’s edge to the highest point on the peninsula, our next stop is Arthurs Seat. We hop onto our bikes and head off-road to take on the peak, trail by trail. A cycling holiday, this is not - so if you’d rather give it a miss, we can drop you at a winery or brewery instead. Either way, you’ll have the chance to take in the stunning views at the top.
Row, row your boat: After we refuel with lunch, we’ll head down the coast to Mornington. Aboard a kayak or atop a stand up paddle board, the quiet and tranquil beaches beckon us out to play. Unless, of course, your stomach is still doing the talking. If that is the case - and why not, you’ve earned it - the food and wine on offer in Mornington will give it only good things to say.
It was such a great experience! I would definitely do it again! Rich was such a great host and guide. He knows the area, he was well prepared and he gave some good facts. The day was well planned, we had some delicious lunch in a nice little restaurant. The hike was amazing, looked like some sceneries from lord of the rings or something. I especially enjoyed the bike part. There were some trails for everyone, no matter how experienced you were. Rich made sure, that everyone could enjoy it and recommended trails for everybody. The kayak/stand up paddling part was also nice. We could choose between kayaks and paddling and had a really good time. Was a really good day! Recommendation!
The day with Rich seemed pretty much perfect. Saw wild animals while hiking as promised, Mountainbiking was SUPER much fun and challenging. Standing paddle or driving Kayak was a great way to end the day. I will, and already have, recommended this tour to my friends.
What a day! The mount bike experience could be a little challenging but definitely a remarkable choice for adrenaline junkies like me!! Paddle board is quite cool and it is definitely the best day trip I have ever had in Australia so far! Shout out to our guide Rich for everything!
