Spend the day soaking up the beauty of nature at World Heritage Lamington National Park, Canungra Valley and O’Reillys while learning all about its fascinating history and stories…
We start this historical journey driving through the Canungra Valley and Land Warfare Countryside, a jungle training camp that was used by our WW1 soldiers and is still used by soldiers of today. After travelling further into Canungura Valley we will stop at an Alpaca Farm where you will greeted with absolutely stunning green scenery and views of the McPherson Ranges. Take a selfie with an Alpaca while you enjoy a delicious morning tea break here.
Next up we visit the World Heritage listed National Lamington Park and O’Reillys Rainforest and mountain. This is a bush walkers dream! Your very own nature guide will take you on the easy graded rainforest walk while telling you all about the delicate rainforest eco system and it’s Strangler Figs. You will also hear the fascinating story of Bernard O’Reilly who found and rescued the only 2 survivors of the 1937 Stinton plane crash. For the more adventurous there is O’Reillys tree top canopy walk, a suspended bridge 160m long and 16m high with amazing views.
After exploring we drive through the beautiful Canungra Valley and stop at the multi award winning O’Reillys Vineyard where you can sit back, relax and sample some of their finest wines. A nice finish to the day!
Optional extras, not included in the price:
Morning tea
Hand feeding birds
Wine tasting
Tour departs Surfers Paradise approx. 8:45am and returns around 4:30pm
Our tour to O'Reillys was great. Our tour guide was a real live bushman with huge knowledge of the areas we visited. He kept us entertained the whole way with great Australian yarns and facts. Apart from a wonderful day out the highlight was Dave's recital of Banjo Pattersons Man from Snowy River. We salute you Dave you are a credit to your company.
i received a call the day before we were to be picked up to Historic Nature Tour at Canungra Valley, Lamington National Park and O'Reilly's in the Gold Coast, Australia telling me the tour is cancelled because they did not have the number of people to take the tour. I am presently trying to get information as to how I can get my tour payment returned to my account. The booking was for July 9, 2018. Booking confirmation reference MTNY 18X1208375 Floyd
