So be sure you allow time to get to Kuranda, catch the shuttle and be on time for your tour. It is advisable or your timing will get messed up. However, the staff will do their best. It is a busy place. Once I got there, I totally enjoyed the boomerang demonstration, the didgeridoo demonstration, the spear throw and the dance. The animals were pretty lazy but still cool to see. The Duck boat was decent but the sound is really muffled so understanding the guide was hard. Then taking the shuttle back to Kuranda to visit a few shops. The shops start closing at 3-3:30, so visiting is tight if your taking the bus back. There is a 4 p.m. bus back to Cairns central. However, this bus also serves the school kids. So it does not run on school holidays. Otherwise last bus is 2:10 from Kuranda. Makes for a rushed day. I am really glad I did the rainforest portion though... One note: there is a designated smoking area. However, if you are waiting at the Duck boat area, the smoke drifts over there. Because that is a covered area, it is very bad to smell it. Maybe, a better location for smoker's so non smoker's won't be compromised. Thank you...
