Take a day out from Cairns by taking the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway over the Rainforest Canopy, spending time in Kuranda Village. Then later boarding the Kuranda Train, the Kuranda Scenic Railway, for the journey home
Take a day trip of discovery to explore the beautiful Kuranda Village, exploring on foot, by Skyrail Cableway and a scenic railway journey.
Your trip begins with a transfer from your accommodation to the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway where you'll discover the beauty of this World Heritage Rainforest as you glide over the canopy heading toward Kuranda Village.
Along the way, you'll see the magnificent Barron George and Falls and visit the Rainforest Interpretive Centre before arriving in the picturesque Village.
Once there you will have 2 hours to use as you please - take a cruise on the Barron River, discover the local arts and crafts scene, or dine at one of many sumptuous restaurants.
After exploring, make your way to the Kuranda Scenic Railway where you'll take a scenic journey through the Rainforest travelling over 37 bridges and through 15 tunnels, soaking up majestic scenery along the way before reaching Freshwater Station where you will be picked up and transported back to your accommodation.

Thanks Andrew, glad you enjoyed the day!
Michael picked us up from the hotel on time and gave some commentary on the way to Skyrail. While we were at Kuranda he sent a text to remind us of the train departure time and meeting point at the end. He was waiting for us at the train station. It was good to have only a small group.
Thanks for your review Helen. I'm pleased you enjoyed my tour.
Highly recommend Michael from cairns custom tours. Very informative and helpful. Very prompt service with a smile and a load of interesting knowledge. Highly recommend! Skyrail and the Kuranda train was a wonderful way to see the rainforest and learn about the train history. Kuranda was a cute little town that we wondered the markets and grabbed some lunch. Would definitely use Michael’s service again and next time will check out the bird, koala or butterfly sanctuary at Kuranda.
Thanks Jo, I'm glad you and the kids enjoyed the tour!
It's was ok but we spected more
Hi Silvina. I am sorry you were disappointed. I processed your last minute booking and delivered the tour to your party as advertised. There were no delays or service difficulties at all. I picked you up from your hotel, delivered a commentary and extra printed translations as well as emailed and text message translations for you and your party. I took you to Skyrail and met you in Kuranda, delivered to you a Kuranda map, your train tickets and trip guide, and made sure you knew where you were and were aware of the schedule. Everything ran to schedule with no problems. I met you at Freshwater Station and delivered you as quickly as possible back to your accomodation all the time in a small group experience with just 10 passengers, same driver morning and afternoon and I was in Kuranda to assist you which the major tour companies do not do. At no time during the tour did you indicate there was an expectation of "more" When you say you expected more, what do you mean? Please understand an unfair review can be very damaging and hurtful for a small business such as mine where I strive to do the best for my customers.
Skyrail was a fantastic experience, well worth the price. The stops are each interesting, supemented with the audio app commentary. the historic kuranda scenic train was also an interesting experience albeit too warm and sticky inthe afternoon heat. Michael was punctual and organised the tour well. He also gave informative commentary on the way to the stations. It would be helpful to have an itinerary so that we know beforehand the time and places to meet, rather than being reminded during the transfer as there's too many distractions.
Thank you Kuan, glad you enjoyed the day. I will take your suggestion on board, regards, Michael
