This immersive Hands-on Country Eco Tour offers an authentic and memorable experience with the indigenous people of Mandingalbay Yidinji. Enjoy breathtaking and stunning views of the wetland ecosystem in Cairns Harbour!

Take a glimpse of the scenic rainforest-clad mountains and Hills Creek, where salty sea and mountain freshwaters meet. Experience the welcoming vibe of a traditional “Welcome to Country”, and “Smoking Ceremony” of the Mandingalbay Yidinji people.

This eco-tour is fully guided by indigenous guides based on where the Mayi Bugan Rainforest Trail begins. Explore the native foods and bush medicines, as well as ancient Aboriginal traditions, customs, and artifacts. Take a break with light refreshments that includes coconut damper, tea, and fresh fruits while enjoying the forest’s breeze before returning to the Cairns Harbour.

Notes

  • Biting insects can occur at forested sites throughout the tour. We recommend wearing light, long sleeve shirts and pants/skirts as well as bringing along personal insect repellent.

    CHECK-IN: 0845 at the Mooz Gelato and Juice Bar Marina Point, 5/2 Pier Point Rd, Cairns. Look for our A-Frame sign out front of the cafe. Our guides will meet you there, and walk you down to our river cruise vessel.

    DEPARTURE: Currently departing from Finger Wharf C at the Cairns Marlin Marina.
