Snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef from Port Douglas is an extraordinary adventure for anyone. With much of the reef's vibrant colours and marine life visible just a few meters below the water's surface, snorkeling with Calypso provides an opportunity for swimmers of all skill levels to explore this diverse ecosystem.
Glide above lush, colourful coral gardens bustling with life, from adorable and playful clownfish to the elegant beauty of the green turtle. You will have the chance to encounter a variety of species, including giant clams, stingrays, Maori wrasse, cod, and vibrant parrotfish, as you visit Opal Reef with Calypso.
The 21-meter vessel boasts comfortable daybed-style seating, spacious decks, and a professional, experienced crew, ensuring a distinctive and personalized Great Barrier Reef experience.
Approximate Itinerary (subject to change depending on conditions)
- 7:00am to 8:20am Check In – Free parking is available at Crystalbrook Marina Port Douglas
- 8:20am to 8:45am Boarding Commences – At 8:20am at the Crystalbrook Marina, Port Douglas.
- 8.45am to 10:10am Cruise Time – It is time to sit back and relax while we travel to our first site.
- 10:20am to 11:15am First Snorkelling Site and morning tea
- 11:50am to 1:30pm Second Snorkelling Site and lunch
- 1:45pm to 2:45pm Third Snorkelling Site and afternoon tea
- 2:45pm to 4:15pm Cruise Home
- 4.15pm (approximately) Arrive back at Crystalbrook Marina Port Douglas

Excellent experience
Wonderful staff, service and great barrier reef experience. 3 gorgeous stops, fully equipped and great support. Highly recommend it to anyone.

Wonderful day
Loved our snorkel trip. Staff was friendly and competent. Good communication about safety. Equipment supplied decent. Two of the 3 locations great for snorkeling but the third more for the divers. The marine biologist was very informative. Lunch and snacks well done. Would definitely recommend. My only comment is that it was supposed to be only snorkeling but I assume due to small numbers was combined with divers.

Excellent trip
We had a great day with Calypso. The staff were wonderful and we visited three great snorkelling sites. The food was fine and there was plenty of it. The boat had lots of room and there was a range of seating options. Highly recommended.

Great holiday, lovely reef tours
The crews are really helpful and response to every request. There are prescription glasses and life jackey available for non-swimmers. And yes, I still enjoy the reef tour even if I cannot swim. Beautiful sight seeing as well
