Well worth a visit! The guide was awesome!
Barra seem to slow with their metabolism during cooler months and become lazy chasing food. Not many fish caught during our visit and my son only caught one. The young guy at reception is certainly a big improvement on the grumpy old farts who used to be in that job. The cafe food is sensational. Delicious.
Not very informative and unrewarding. Use a soft plastic if available. One fish catch and release in production pond. Hard to catch in the other pond.
Thankyou for your feedback. On a regular tour we would have 10mins intro to the farm and fishing at the start of your tour and 5 mins at the end hopefully sharing our knowledge of the fish, fishing and encourage people towards sustainable fishing and food. The majority of the rest of the session is spent in the pursuit of catching larger fish (aka fishing). The Larger fish can be hard to catch sometimes as they are wild creatures and we have no control of their activity. To increase peoples chances to catch at least a fish we allow guests to a production pond where they have some time to ‘Hook-A-Barra’ this may me one, two, six sometimes zero fish. As fishing has effects on production ponds feeding rates we have to limit this activity if guests are not willing to keep the fish they catch. We hope you give us another try one time and your luck might be better.
